Panda Charm Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my Panda Clay charm Tutorial.

I will be showing you from start to finish how you can make your own panda charm ^_^

What you will need

  • Fimo Clay (White, Green, Black)
  • Paint (Black, White) Optional (Green, Pink)
  • Eye Pin
  • Jump rings
  • Keyring
  • Glaze
  • Pliers

Step 1
Create 2 white balls. Make the ball for the head larger than the one for the body.

Step 2
Lightly pinch the top of the body to create a triangular shape.

Step 3
Connect the head and body together, be sure not to press to hard and ruin the shape.

Step 4
Roll out 4 small  black sausages and pinch them at the end to form a point. These will be the arms and legs.

Step 5
Add two of the black sausages under the head and the other two at the bottom of the body

Step 6
Next create 3 small black balls of clay.

Step 7
Add two of the small black balls on the top of the head. These will be the ears

Step 8
Add the last black ball near the bottom of the body on the back. This will be the tail

Step 9
Make a leaf shape with the green clay. Create a ball first and then pinch one side

Step 10
Cut the veins of the leaf. Create a long cut in the middle then angle the veins upwards towards the pointed end

Step 11
Roll out a long green sausage. This will be the stem of the leaf

Step 12
Lightly press the leaf into the stem. Ensure you don't press too hard as the shape may be lost.

Step 13
Connect the leaf and stem to the panda. Try to connect on the first attempt as the black clay will mark the green. Stick an eye pin in the top of the Panda's head

Step 14
Bake the Panda in the oven at 194 °F (90 °C) for 10 minutes. Ensure the oven is preheated first as your charm will not be fully cured and will more than likely break. Leave the charm to cool down for 10 minutes after you take it out of the oven. Not only will it be hot but it will be quite fragile at this time.

Step 15
If you have green paint, paint over the veins on the leaf

Step 16
With your black paint, paint 2 large oval shapes on the head, these will be the black parts around the Panda's eyes.

Step 17
Paint a small oval in between the two larger ones. This will be the nose. Paint a thin black line coming down from the nose.

Step 18
Paint 2 curved lines at the bottom of the nose line. This will be the Panda's mouth.

Step 19
Paint two white circles on top of the large black ovals. Be sure the black is dry or else you could end up with a mixed mess :P. These white circles will be the eyes.

Step 20
Next paint two black circles on top of the white ones. Make them smaller than the white as these will be the pupils of the Panda. Once again be sure the white paint is dry first.

Step 21
Add two even smaller white dots to the outside of the black pupils. This should give the impression of highlights in the eyes.

Step 22
Add a blush to your Panda charm if you want to by using light pink paint. I added blush on digitally XD

Step 23
Glaze you charm once you are happy with it. I use three different glazes as it seems to give it extra shine. I use Decoart Matte,Satin and gloss glazes in that order. Make sure that if you do glaze more than once you let the first layer completely dry before you apply another coat. Also apply thinly as too much glaze could cause drips

Step 24
Add a Keyring to your charm by connecting them with jump rings. Close the jump rings with pliers.

And voila your all done!

I hope this tutorial was helpful ^_^ If it was, post a picture of your charm or leave a comment below.
